The jungle of Comporta

Sometimes 17 hectares of land are enough to make you feel like you are in a completely different place from the one you leave behind after getting off the N261 road that links the towns of Comporta and Grandola. An automatic gate that opens to the rhythm of your heartbeat once inside this enclosure. Here the relaxation and disconnection is latent. A voice on the other side of the intercom welcomes you to one of the best hotels in Portugal and Europe. The Sublime chain knows how to do things very well and has wanted to continue reflecting its stamp in this small jungle in the Portuguese country.

Comporta is summer, but also winter. Sublime is a timeless hotel, a beach and summer hotel, a fireplace and winter hotel. And this is something we did not imagine when we visited it in January.

A five-star hotel with a personal service with all the necessary keys to make you feel at home. A farm with rooms of all kinds, from double cabins to villas with up to 5 bedrooms and a private pool. A hotel with freedom.

A main building houses the reception, the main restaurant “Sem Porta” (where breakfast is also served), a cocktail bar in a lounge with a fireplace, a shop on the ground floor, and above all an area that serves as a central meeting point. From there a buggy brings you to your room whenever you need it without having to take the car inside the estate. A farm with enough space for running or cycling routes along its own paths.

A central swimming pool with lounge chairs around the fire for cold nights, a building housing the gym (tecnogym), and the spa on the lower floor, and the snack bar in front of the pool, where it is possible to have lunch any day.

Next to the main building, there is a small wooden hut called “Circle Food”, a kind of gastronomic bar with experiences with an itinerant chef, where it is possible to enjoy a tasting menu.

Tennis and paddle courts complete the complex, built for the relaxation and enjoyment of the guests.

We were able to enjoy a few days in our cabin called Bio Pool Suite. 9 cabins built with a terrace of about 25 m2 and a private pool at the back to dive directly from the bed in fresh water. Water that uses no chemicals and is treated only with aquatic plants. A nod to the fishing port of Carrasqueira, which was built by the fishermen themselves and is very close to the town of Comporta.
